Welcome to the Aatam Blog

We're excited to launch the Aatam Blog — a space for exploring mindfulness, self-discovery, and intentional living. Whether you're just beginning your journey or you've been practicing for years, we hope you'll find something valuable here.

What is Aatam?

Aatam (आत्म) is a Sanskrit word meaning "soul" or "self." In various Indian philosophical traditions, it represents the true self — distinct from the ego, beyond the physical body, and connected to something greater.

The world, like a dream, is superimposed upon the one reality, the Atman.

Our mission is to help people reconnect with this deeper sense of self in a world full of distractions.

This blog will explore a range of topics at the intersection of ancient wisdom and modern life:

  • Meditation Practices — Techniques for beginners and advanced practitioners alike
  • Self-Inquiry — Exploring the question "Who am I?" through various frameworks

💡Pro Tip

You can subscribe to our RSS feed to get new posts delivered to your favorite reader.

Writing with MDX

This blog is built with Next.js and MDX, which allows us to include interactive components alongside our prose. For the technical readers, here's a quick example:

typescript
// Define your content schema
import { z } from 'zod';

const blogPostSchema = z.object({
  title: z.string(),
  description: z.string(),
  date: z.date(),
  image: z.string().optional(),
});

MDX gives us the flexibility to create rich, interactive content while maintaining the simplicity of Markdown.

A Simple Practice to Start

Before we wrap up, here's a simple practice you can try right now:

  1. Pause — Take a moment to stop whatever else you're doing
  2. Breathe — Take three slow, deep breaths
  3. Notice — Without judgment, observe what you're feeling physically and emotionally
  4. Return — Gently bring your attention back to the present moment
📝Remember

The goal isn't to feel a certain way. It's simply to observe what's already there.

Join the Journey

We're just getting started, and we'd love for you to be part of this journey. Here are a few ways to stay connected:

Thank you for being here. We look forward to exploring these ideas together.
