A familiar meeting can become a place to notice what shapes your answer.
Imagine a meeting nearing its end. The room is ready to agree. You have one reservation. Saying it would reopen a decision everyone wants to finish.
The useful question is specific: what makes agreement attractive in this moment? You might genuinely support the proposal. You might be protecting a deadline. You might expect disagreement to cost you standing. Those possibilities deserve different responses.
Predictive processing offers one research framework for thinking about how prior experience shapes what we expect. It does not tell us which explanation applies to a particular person in a particular meeting.
The planned AATAM story format begins with the situation, a role and something at stake. Enjoy the world, or notice which response draws you in. A separate return and practice is in development, designed to let you revisit the encounter and try another response.
The question to take back to your day: what would a clear answer sound like here—one you can stand behind?
